Getting behind the wheel for The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive

Friday 26th

On Sunday, September 28th 2025, I'll be taking part in The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive.

Together with thousands of classic car enthusiasts around the world, I will be raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health for the charity, Movember.

I am aiming to raise as much as possible for the cause, to help men and their families around the world live longer, happier and healthier lives; together.

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 50.

1 in 6 men in the UK will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives.

Although we cannot yet say that either of these are unequivocally preventable, the life-ending threat they do pose need not be inevitable.

Early detection, support, counselling, treatment, education and the funding of continued research does have a tremendously positive impact; improving the outcomes for a great many.

These are very real issues which have heavy life-changing events for far too many families & friends.

This is something that affects us all and, together, we can work to make a positive change for the present and future generations.

Please give what you can.

Recycling at every turn: Classic Cars and Coryton's Sustain Fuels

Tuesday 23rd

The profile photo on this page is a 1966 Volvo Amazon P130 (LHD) which goes by the name "Velvet", as christianed by my two children.

That was almost 10 years ago & Velvet was the sole vehicle in the household, happily completing all the school runs!

Velvet lived most of her life in Finland before being shipped over to the UK.

Since Velvet's arrival at the Harwich docks, I have made a point of recyling, restoring and reusing the original parts throughout the car; save for where it was simply impossible to do so or where it made better sense to improve the part with a newer future-proofed element.

It has been close to a decade long 'recycling' project, long may it continue!

This recycle, restore, reuse mindset has led to my continued use & support of Coryton's ingenuious Sustain Classic Super 80 fuel.

We shall again be participating & completing this years DGD charity drive, fuelled by Sustain Classic Super 80.

However, the central cause remains the same deeply personal & important one: raising awareness and support for prostate cancer and men's mental health for the charity, Movember.

Additionally, our participation on this drive will be promoting sustainabilty through our recycle, restore, reuse approach from vehicle retention to using Coryton's environmentally conscious, sustainable fuel.

A bit about Coryton's ingenious Sustain 80 fuel

Super 80 has, at least, 80% verifiably sustainable content - far smarter & efficient than the current fuels on forecourts around the world.

SUPER 80 is a sustainable petrol designed for use in Classic and Heritage vehicles.

It is formulated from 2nd generation bio-mass derived renewable hydrocarbons, and further tailored using traditional fuel components for performance benefits.

2nd Generation bio-mass feedstocks are considered to be waste, and do not compete with food production.

Forecourt petrol contains up to 10% Ethanol, which can cause corrosion and material compatibility issues.

All SUSTAIN Classic petrols contain
Coryton is an innovative UK based business.

Recycle, Restore, Reuse
Though my personal efforts may seem modest against the global challenges of today, I hope they serve as a quiet example of the enduring value of choosing not to buy more, use more, or waste more.

Vivienne Westwood may have seemed to be talking simply about fashion consumption when she suggested:

"Buy less, choose well, make it last"

However, I feel her point has a far broader wisdom & application.
