WHAT A DAY!!

Monday 29th

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated or wished us well for The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive on Sunday. We had a fantastic day and raised an amazing £887 for the Movember charity and supporting those affected by prostate cancer. Team JLR as a whole raised £3,870 with almost 100 vehicles taking part in the event.

I was a little concerned when it rained through the night on Saturday, but thankfully it stopped before we left home. We drove to JLR Classic Works (the start point) with the roof up as there was still a lot of spray from the road. The sun came out just as the run started so we chanced it and decided to put the roof down. We were allowed to be the lead car and followed directly behind the organisers in JDHT cars. The best bit was when my dad turned up to wave us off. That really made my day!

The car ran faultlessly and there were quite a few people out to wave as we passed. I even managed to get my toolbox out at the BMM and help to fix a poorly MGB. The run back was in glorious sunshine, and we got back to Ryton at about 13:00 before heading home for a well-earned sandwich and a nap!

Thursday 25th

Wow! Lucy and I only spoke about doing this event last night as we went for our daily stroll around the block.

We discussed what we wanted to achieve and the important people in our life that we wanted to do this for.

I am truly humbled by the response and would like to personally thank everyone who has donated or shared kind words by telling their own stories of how cancer can affect families and friends in so many ways.

We have absolutely smashed the original target so I am going to up the challenge and aim to raise as much as possible to support the physical and mental wellbeing of people going through their own challenges.

Getting behind the wheel for The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive

Wednesday 24th On Sunday, September 28th 2025, I'll be taking part in The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive. Together with thousands of classic car enthusiasts around the world, I will be raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health for the charity, Movember.

Before the dapper day, I'll be looking to raise as much as possible for the cause, to help men around the world live happier and healthier lives. With men's chances of developing prostate cancer later in life increasing, and one man dying every minute by suicide, we must do all we can to prevent more men from suffering.

This is something that affects us all and together, we can make a change. Please give what you can.
