Buckle up! We're going old-school this weekend. No air-con. No power steering. No retractable seatbelts. Just the raw feel of the road, windows down, fumes in the air, and the wind in my face.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is back, and this year, it will be my second time driving alongside other classics. I’ll be rolling in with my Gentleman, Bert, the 1972 VW Beetle—smelly, temperamental, but full of soul - and most importantly, new brakes and a horn that works :)
I may be a Gentlewoman, but I’ll be driving for the gents in my life, my sons, my dad, my brothers, and my nephew David, who we lost to suicide way too young. Our lives were changed forever. Sadly, David is not alone. In Australia, suicide is the leading cause of death for young men under 44, a devastating reality that Movember is working hard to change, along with raising awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer.
I'll also be driving for all the other good men in my life, in my professional and personal circles. Being connected to Defence has made this mission even more important to me. Mental health is not just a conversation; it’s a lifeline.
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked in entrepreneurship, side by side with founders and business owners who ride so close to the edge, fueled by the hope that tomorrow will be better. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. The key is having a close tribe that knows when to lean in, when to step back, and, most importantly, when to check in on a mate — even if everything looks fine on the outside.
This drive is about more than classic cars. It’s about raising awareness, funding life-saving programs, and standing shoulder to shoulder for men’s health.
So come along for the ride, cheer us on, or chip in to support the cause. Together with Movember, we’re driving change, one classic car at a time.
DATE: This Sunday, September 28th 2025
DRESS: Dapper!
LOCATION: I'll be driving on the Gold Coast Drive.
Please enjoy this video from my drive 2 years ago, when the teenagers would still ride with me. Now I only have one keen passenger who loves a theme, some fun, and is eager to smell the fumes, dress up!

Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australian males aged 15 to 44 and is the third-leading cause of death for males aged 45 to 64. Almost one in three deaths of Australian males aged 15 to 24 are caused by suicide; for males aged 25-44 it’s one in four.
